Stupid weather-idiots

We got nuthin'

No inches of snow, no dusting of snow, not one godsdamned flake of snow.

My inner 3 year old is having a temper tantrum and calling people poopy-heads.

The bad thing is, a lot of schools and work places (but, alas, not mine) went ahead and announced they'd be closed today while they were still predicting Snowageddon yesterday. I haven't gone to my local news website yet, but I can bet there will be some pissed off parents.

Weather update

Well, kinda....

All I have to say is that there better be some damn snow on the ground when the alarm goes off at 4:45 tomorrow morning, or I'm kicking all kinds of weather-people's ass. :-p

Just a weather update...

... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 4 PM this afternoon to
7 am EST Monday...

The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a Winter
Storm Warning... which is in effect from 4 PM this afternoon to
7 am EST Monday. The Winter Weather Advisory is no longer in
effect.

Rain will change to snow by early this evening. The snow may be
heavy for a brief period before midnight. The snow will taper off
toward Monday morning. Total snowfall amounts will range from
around 2 inches in the Columbia area to 2 to 4 inches in the
western midlands.

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
sleet... and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.

Luckily, I did my grocery shopping yesterday, so there's plenty of food and stuff for me and the cats. The front porch and the driveway are swept clean, so it won't be treacherous to get out that far, anyways.

Weather WTF-ery

Potential for snow late in weekend

So if people wonder why I'm up and down, high and low, so forth and so on... just look at the weather.

And my current music song? NOT HELPING, KTHXBYE

I don't care what that stupid groundhog said

It's getting to be Spring here in SC. How do I know this? The mockingbirds are chasing each other all over my yard.

YAY SPRING!!

Project 365 Day 13

Project 365 Day 10

I live where, again? )

Nov. 21st, 2008

Where do I live again?

Tonight it will be 22 degrees.

Tomorrow night it will be 18 degrees.

Did South Carolina get moved to the North Pole while I wasn't looking?

Join the Impact protest results

Despite a surprisingly cold wind, it was a great time. Mom and I got there in plenty of time and managed to find a decently close parking space. There were 150 - 175 people at one point, which is way more than I ever expected to show up, considering Columbia's protest was organized in 48 hours.

Here are the pictures I took, enjoy!

*off to warm up*

Be back later

Off to protest hate, in the wind, with my camera. Will share later.

Hello, Hanna

Looks like she's going to pass nearby after all... it's raining here in downtown now. That's all they're expecting, thankfully, just some rain before she scoots up the coast.

Sep. 2nd, 2008

Another Hanna update...

...another push back on time, now it won't make landfall until late Friday night. She's really enjoying her Bahama's vacation, apparently. :-p

Cut for C&P of local weather predictions )

Basically, the biggest threat right now will be from tornadoes.

Off to make a list and check it twice. ;-)

New Hanna update

Cut because this is mostly me mumbling to myself )

Now it's our turn

Looks like Hurricane Hannah will be knocking on my door Friday morning.

Had a bad headache yesterday, due to a summer thunderstorm appearing out of nowhere and deciding that my neighborhood was the best place to have a target practice session with it's lightning. Still very groggy and out of it today.
