Been busy...

But nothing fun or interesting, really, so we'll just cut to the current fun stuff. )

Apr. 15th, 2009

So, Springkink...

Springkink has prompts!

I've limited myself to five right now, should they all be accepted. I'm easing myself back into the prompt community after a disastrous end of year run of not writing or posting. :-p I've already got good notes for four of those five prompts, and then other one can be easily drabbled from the couple of sentences I've written.

I'm also writing for LGBT Fic Fest, and darn it, I'm going to have to make myself watch Chronicles of Riddick again for the prompt I picked. ;-)

Work is still very busy, then my life gets incredibly busy moving Mom for a few days, then I think I get a weekend off, or something...

Quick and dirty update

What I've been up to )

Dec. 3rd, 2008

Finished up a past due prompt

Title: Magic Memorization
Rating: G
Warnings: crappy haiku
Prompt: Kingdom Hearts, Sora: Magic!kink--Each spell had a uniquie feel, in Sora's mind.

I used to write a lot of haiku. I should get back in that habit.

A little something I wrote

Springkink is having a [info]porn_battle style drabble-a-thon, and I've made one contribution so far.

Title: How AVALANCHE Afforded Explosives
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII
Characters: Whomever wants to play, or gets drug in kicking and screaming. :)
Kink: My blood runs cold/My memory has just been sold/My angel is the centerfold
A/N: Completely worksafe

Might try for one or two others, but I've finally started my second [info]roads_diverged prompt, which does take precedence.

Writing! And one or two other things

Occasionally other things happen in my life, but this is what I'm focusing on and trying to improve and do more of. ;-) )

Cut for spoilers for Shin Megumi Tensei: Nocturne )

Jun. 23rd, 2008

Lots of writing stuff

2 Springkink links, 1 drabble, other stuff )

Jun. 20th, 2008

Another Springkink link

Title: Blind
Rating: PG
Word count: 267
Prompt: June 20th - Final Fantasy VII, Kadaj/Rufus Shinra: sensory deprivation - What's wrong? Are you still afraid of the dark?
A/N: Takes place during Advent Children
Crossposted: [info]materia_play

Didn't get any writing done yesterday, had a few extra things to do at work. Will try to get cracking on something today.

Jun. 16th, 2008

Next Springkink

Title: Wrong Princess
Rating: G
Word count: 372
Prompt: Crossover: Final Fantasy IX/Kingdom Hearts, Zidane/Kairi: banter - “There are a lot of advantages to traveling with a thief."
Crossposted: [info]finalfantasy_ix and [info]kingdomhearts
A/N: Horribly incomplete, I know, but this is one where I have the idea for the ending, just no idea how to get there. This is "Alexander Battle", from an upcoming Wii Chocobo Dungeon game. Notice how it's a remix of the song from the next to last battle in FF X? Notice the cannon? See my brain go "Ooh, Prima Vista vs. Heartless Alexander summon" but not give me any idea how to get there?

Yeah. :-p

Jun. 15th, 2008

Next writing bit and other stuff

Title: Slaved Pirate
Rating: G
Word count: 803
Prompt: June 15th - Final Fantasy XII, Larsa/Penelo: Slave auction – "He never expected to see her here,"
Crossposted: [info]phoenixdown

Celebrated Dad's birthday yesterday, and I think I overdid the rough housing with my 5 1/2 year old nephew... arthritic!Jenn is all owie today. Will try to take it easy today.

Jun. 13th, 2008

More writing links

First, Springkink: An untitled 367 words for the prompt Final Fantasy XII, Penelo/Basch: friendly kidnapping - "Basch thought that, perhaps, Penelo was enjoying her role as Sky Pirate a bit too much.". Will be cross-posted to [info]phoenixdown

Then, [info]porn_battle started up, and here's 421 probably NWS words for the prompt Final Fantasy X, Yuna/Shiva, cold fingers. Will be cross-posted to [info]pilgrimage.

If I can't get the last Springkink prompt written this weekend, I think I'm just going to drop it. I'm stressing myself out over it, which is silly.

Jun. 12th, 2008

Bunch of writing updates

1) Four drabbles for [info]ffvii_100: Instant Turnaround, Should Be Obvious, Concept Model, and We're Glad You Agree. I think I have one more, we'll see if I can get it written.

2) Faraway, Close By for the Spingkink prompt Harry Potter, Luna/Ginny: dreams - "You can take yourself to another place.". 100 words, rated G. Cross-posted to [info]all_fiction.

3) [info]porn_battle will stop taking prompts today, and OMG you people are KILLING ME! There is a lot of awesomeness in there, go contribute!

4) Only a couple of days left to submit for [info]areyougame. I gave them a ton of cracky crossovers yesterday, so if you want more normal stuff, you'd better go submit it yourself. ;-)

5) Still no new things for the last Springkink prompt or my 6 [info]kinkfest prompts... *sigh*

Jun. 6th, 2008

Third Springkink prompt

Title: Nowhere to Go but Forward
Rating: PG for implied violence
Word count: 389
Prompt: June 6th - Crossover: Kingdom Hearts/Final Fantasy VII/Final Fantasy VI, Turks/Rufus/Figaro Twins: Loyalty/Duty - "Our world is now lost to darkness. We four Turks are all that's left of the royal bodyguard. Thus, it is our final duty to King Ansem to raise and protect his heirs."
Crossposted: [info]ffvii_fandom and [info]kingdomhearts

This was one that hit me as soon as I saw the prompt.

In good writing news, I started on the last Springkink prompt. It's going slow, but it's better than not writing.

In bad personal news, I think I'm having an allergic reaction to the kid's sunblock I put on yesterday. Itchy, hot skin, red bumps... *sigh* I swear, it's getting to the point where I'll just go without sunblock and avoid the sun. :-p

Jun. 5th, 2008

Second Springkink prompt

Title: Sleep-fondling
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: language
Word count: 144
Prompt: June 5th - Final Fantasy VII, Reno/Rude: Sleep - Even exhausted, he can't keep his hands to himself
Cross posted to [info]ffvii_yaoi

Never did write the other one... I've got until the end of the day, maybe it'll kick-start my brain.

Jun. 4th, 2008

First Springkink posting

Title: No Concept of Time
Rating: PG
Warnings: Language, violence, references to past sex
Word count: 560
Prompt: June 4th - Devil May Cry, Dante/Lady: Pondering Lady's mortality - and the sun will set for you
A/N: Set a few to several years after Devil May Cry 4
Crossposted: [info]dmc and [info]all_fiction

I'm happy with this one, because it'll let me lead into other stories someday when I get my creativity back (if you see it, could you package it up and send it back to me?).

Jun. 2nd, 2008

So, Springkink has started...

And I keep checking my LJ flist every hour to see if the three prompts of mine that have been claimed have been posted yet. So in honor of that, my first ever poll!

Gen-Challenge post

May 31 - Final Fantasy X, Bahamut, 'A hard choice for any child to make, even one over a thousand years old'.

...this means Springkink starts up tomorrow, right?

And then [info]kinkfest, whose prompts I haven't even started, right?

*is doomed*

May. 14th, 2008

Writing update and other stuff

Looks like I may get out of meetings today, the consultant is sick.

Unfortunately, I think I am, too. Damn Yankee germs. :-p

Wrote 267 words on the Springkink prompt Final Fantasy VII, Kadaj/Rufus Shinra: sensory deprivation - What's wrong? Are you still afraid of the dark?. That leaves one to go, the Vergil torture prompt that I really ought to get down before I completely squick myself out of writing it.

Then six [info]kinkfest prompts, and if I feel good about those, I'll go back and to claim some more.

Beat Final Fantasy IX yesterday, and oh, how I love that ending. :-) Next up is SMT: Nocturne, since I tend to see prompts and stuff about it everywhere.

ETA: LOL! Trying to write the Music tag, almost posted "You're a Solidor Now".
