Another something for [info]story_arc

Story Arc Title: Four Times the Job Went Bad, and One Time It Didn't
Episode Title: ...Now What?
Prompt: Serpent
Rating: PG-13
Warning: Language
Word count: 291

I have to admit, this is the pieces of a failed [info]notruepair prompt that I cleaned up. Still not the whole story I originally had in mind, but much better than nothing.

First something for [info]story_arc

Story Arc Title: Four Times the Job Went Bad, and One Time It Didn't
Episode Title: Unimportant Blood
Prompt: Blood
Rating: R
Warnings: Um, blood? And language.
Word count: 193

Second [info]no_true_pair go

Title: The Will to Break
Rating: PG
Word count: 975
Prompt: Dante and Sephiroth: handcuffs/prison scenario
A/N: Takes place in my Devil May Cry OC Cat's time line, although it's not necessary to know who she is to read this.

To be honest, I'm not real enthused about this, but I don't have time to re-work it. I'm about to be behind on other prompts (one is taking much longer than I'd expected it to), so I need to just keep moving.

No True Pair of the week

I decided that one per week was all I'd be able to handle, especially with Kinkfest coming up and work never getting any less busy.

Title: How the Other Side Lives
Rating: G
Warnings: innuendo
Word count: 1,529
Prompt: Cat and Sephiroth are in a marriage of convenience
A/N: This is where I put FF VII and DMC into a blender and hit frappé... without the lid on. ;-) The fic then gets its revenge by spawning EPIC PLOT OMG MAKE IT STOP!!!! *ded* Yeah, I have more in the 'verse, with Elena, with Rude, with... gods. Yeah. I'll get to it. :-p

Porn_Battle entry and other writing stuff

Prompt: Final Fantasy VII: SHM/Cloud - tying Nii-san up and showing him how they played together
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: manbits, beginnings of sex
Word count: 387
A/N: implies Vincent didn't come to the rescue at the battle in the Forgotten City

And here's what I still have to do between now and the end of June )

Apr. 29th, 2009

Been busy...

But nothing fun or interesting, really, so we'll just cut to the current fun stuff. )

Mar. 24th, 2009

Got bit, so I wrote

Title: Copperhead Road
Rating: R
Warnings: language
Word count: 929
Prompt: 26. small town, Devil May Cry
A/N: Lyrics for “Copperhead Road” by Steve Earl are copyright 1988, no infringement is implied or intended. Lyrics are not included in the word count.

That actually wasn't what I had intended to write originally... I was going to do Dante in an orphanage in the middle of nowhere, with Lady as a social worker and Trish as the orphanage head, but I never could get going with it. Then yesterday that song comes up on my random, and I got bit HARD. Enjoy!

Writing update

- I have one to write (22nd) and one to post (23rd) for [info]areyougame (FF VII/IX crossover)
- Need to pick a prompt for the next [info]roads_diverged and just write the damn thing instead of just thinking about writing it (DMC)
- Start on the Pride prompt for [info]thesevensins (FF X)
- Tangent to writing, but still important to my writing process: put together Maria's soundtrack and start listening to it (DMC)

That should get me to the end of February

Going back to some [info]no_true_pair prompts

For the next couple of days, we can play catch-up on some prompts that didn't get done when they were originally due, so...

Title: (untitled)
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: language
Word count: 363
Prompt: Cat and Dante, first impressions
A/N: I know this one feels like you've been dropped in the middle of a scene, but it works, so... ;-)

Hopefully I can get one or two more done, to advance Fran's story a bit.

Jan. 22nd, 2009

Another [info]no_true_pair prompt

Might be the last one for this round, we'll see... I've got ideas for a couple more, but I'm just not having the time to write because of work.

Title: The End, The Beginning
Rating: R
Warnings: some horrific imagery
Word count: 863
Prompt: Maria and Nero: "Don't give up now."
A/N: Takes place very soon before Second Chance, Second Sight.

In the next day or two I'll get a quickie time line for the Maria stuff together. I've hit most of the high points for the "Dante" half of her story, just would like to work on some filler, but some of that takes *gasp* RESEARCH. ;-)

Project 365 Day 11

When reality influences the characters I write )

Jan. 16th, 2009

Another [info]no_true_pair prompt

Remember the one I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I said had eaten my brain?

Title: Substitutes
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: language, violence, dub-con drug use, wall!sex
Word count: 3395 (!!!)
Prompt: Nero and Cat: "I'd hate to ruin the surprise."
A/N: Takes place 50 years after Devil May Cry 4.

So, um, yeah. Technically an AU of an OC, I think. It may end up my own cannon eventually. Oi...

Jan. 14th, 2009

[info]no_true_pair entry for the day

I have teh pleh. Feels like a combination of a stomach bug and the flu. *whines*

Title: Nothing So Beautiful
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: innuendo
Word count: 860
Prompt: Trish and Kyrie: O body swayed to music, O brightening glance / How can we know the dancer from the dance?

Jan. 12th, 2009

Two more [info]no_true_pair prompts

Note to self - make at least one Heavenly Sword icon.

Title: The Eyes Have It
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: language
Word count: 1281
Prompt: Cat and Lady: "Well, I never saw that coming."
A/N: Cat is another OC of mine, set ten or so years after Devil May Cry 4. She works with Lady sometimes, on jobs that Dante and Trish aren't interested in. It's a chance to bring in a whole "underground population" theme, as well as a way to explore the large city Dante's shop is located in.

Title: One More Obstacle
Rating: G
Word count: 100
Prompt: Nariko and Robin: "Who do you think you are?"
A/N: Super secret additional Heavenly Sword boss!

Jan. 9th, 2009

Another two [info]no_true_pair prompts today

Title: One More for the Road
Rating: PG
Warnings: non-explicit m/m making out
Word count: 667
Prompt: Sora and Nariko with the title, "One More for the Road"

Title: Second Chance, Second Sight
Rating: R
Warnings: Language, violence
Word count: 457
Prompt: Nevan and Maria: "Who do you think you are?"
A/N: (Pardon the info dump!) To catch the story up: Dante and Nero chased Nevan/Maria for a couple of weeks. It quickly became apparent that they were not engaging in random acts of brutality, but were looking for something. What, exactly, neither devil hunter had the time to figure out, because wherever the not-fully-integrated duo went, slavishly devoted demonic entities followed. There were also times when it seemed that Maria was trying to do something without Nevan's approval, like going back to Dante's shop to get her weapon back. It was during one of those times that Nero managed to get a message to Maria via her Net connection, trying to tell her that she was safe with him. The results of this were unknown until the final showdown, when Nevan/Maria found a place where they could gather power to rip open a portal to whichever particular Hell Nevan came from. Dante and Nero battled a demonic army, but it was Maria who decided to kill her guards which allowed Dante to run her through and break their bond. Unfortunately, the portal was already open, and Maria was very nearly destroyed by the backlash. Nevan escaped through the portal, and Dante gave chase. Nero tended to Maria, learning what had to be done to close the connection, then left her with her laser scythe and a reason to live despite her burned-away eyes and burnt bridges.

Two [info]no_true_pair prompts for today

And probably for a couple more days, I wrote the hell out of these prompts...

Title: One More for the Road
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: language, oral sex, violence
Word count: 649
Prompt: Dante and Nevan with the title, "One More for the Road"
A/N: Devil May Cry 3 showed the PG version of this scene... here's the other version.

Title: By Any Other Name
Rating: G
Word count: 313
Prompt: Sephiroth and Fran with the title, "By Any Other Name"

Jan. 4th, 2009

Second part of Maria's [info]no_true_pair story

Title: The Price to Run
Rating: R
Warnings: language, violence, some horrific imagery
Word count: 1377
Prompt: Nevan and Maria: an unexpected act of kindness
A/N: Takes place some months after Black Rain. Maria is becoming more unstable, her paranoia and unrequited obsession slowly poisoning her against Dante. Her only comfort comes from playing Nevan's guitar form, which quiets her ever-present connection to the Net. Dante watches with suspicion, but tells himself that he could handle anything that might go wrong. Finally, the day comes that he's been waiting for: Nero is on-planet again and desperately wants to meet his wayward descendant. Dante goes to bring him to the shop, leaving Maria with only a stern, “Stay here!” She immediately envisions a fearful and painful future, and, with Nevan's subtle encouragement, hacks into his computer.

Next [info]no_true_pair

Title: Black Rain
Rating: R
Warnings: Language
Word count: 1194
Prompt: Maria and Dante: It was a dark and stormy night--
A/N: Maria is an original character for the Devil May Cry universe. Her story is placed about 1,000 years in the future, which lets me add a sci-fi element that I always enjoy playing with. These stories with her are part of a much larger arc, so I'll give the immediate background for each story. For this one: Maria showed up on Dante's doorstep some months prior, looking for answers about her background. She's barely 20, very underweight, but fierce and determined. She has the ability to tap into the 'Net without any hardware, which lets her hack computer systems. The day this story takes place, her hereto now unmentioned twin brother shows up to get her to come back home. This leads to some horrific revelations about her past and why she left. After a screaming argument, Maria runs off, and Dante makes sure that the brother leaves.

[info]no_true_pair update

I've gotten four DMC prompts and four crossover prompts written. Only one of them is a drabble, everything else keep trying to be OMGEpic. Like the fifth DMC prompt I'm in the middle of. Oi! But it's fun! I may have to work up another list later and plug it in for the hell of it.

Dec. 11th, 2008

Couple more writing things

Finished a couple of [info]no_true_pair stories for the crossover list since Monday.

January 7th's Rinoa and Fran have nothing left to lose and January 10th's Sephiroth and Fran with the title, "By Any Other Name" turned into one story, or two very closely connected stories, anyways. I may have to look at some of Fran's other prompts to see if I can continue the thread a bit.

I've also decided that I'm not going to post what I wrote for the January 1st DMC prompt, but I'm not scrapping it, either. I'll put it into the Maria writing folder and start in on what I had really originally intended to write for that prompt.

But first, I've gotten a really naughty idea for the January 21st Nero and Cat: "I'd hate to ruin the surprise." I want to get that one down while I still have it fresh, since it's one I hadn't really planned to do before.
