What are your top three fandoms, and why?
--Final Fantasy X: My friend dawnmipb was so insistent that I play this game and see this story that she bought me my PS2 and the game for the holidays back in 2002. It is probably the pinnacle of FF storytelling, IMO, with deep meanings and layers upon layers of goodness. I also happen to identify with Yuna and her need to do what everyone expects her to do way too much.
--Devil May Cry: What's not to love about a super-sexy ass-kicking name-taking demon-killing hides-his-pain bad boy? ;-) But seriously, I think a lot of what attracts me to this fandom is the fact that Capcom has left a lot of empty space to play in. The anime showed a bit of what I was looking for - Dante and how he fits into the city he lives in - and my main OC, Cat, was born from wanting to poke the underbelly to see what would happen.
--Final Fantasy VII: Yes, yes, me and everyone else, but there is a lot to love here. There are the simple, top layer stories about saving the world, but when you pry off the lid there's deeper messages warning against unfettered corporate power and unrestricted scientific experimentation. The morality, or lack thereof, that dictates everyone's decisions leaves you wondering, "Well, what if...?"

2. Given the chance to go anywhere for a two-week stay, where would you choose to go, and what sights would you want to see there?
--Oooh... so many places to choose from. I'll say India. I want to see everything.

3. Have you ever fought getting into something--a book, a movie, a fandom, etc--that you later adored, and kicked yourself for fighting?
--I know I was late to the Harry Potter books, thinking they were just children's stories, but I don't really kick myself... AH! Now I remember: StarCraft. For years, I didn't bother getting the game because, well, I had WarCraft, and this was just WarCraft in space, and how could it be better? Then I met Jimmy Rayner, and I was hooked. I cannot wait for the next games and books to come out.

4. Anime, manga, or Jgames. Which are your most favorite of the three?
--Anime, because there's more variety and they're more accessible. J-games can be hard to get into sometimes, especially if the localization sucks, and these days are expensive. Manga last, simply because I don't have a good way to get a hold of any.

5. What one oddball skill do you have that you wish you could make money off of?
--I don't know that it's oddball, per se, but I really wish I could make money and live off of taking care of cats. I'm really good at fostering both kittens and adults. But shelters don't pay well, and rarely offer health care benefits.
So earlier this morning I had a post composed in my head that was me whining about how I'm not writing, how I'm an utter failure at life in general, that my creativity was dead, that I really shouldn't be bothering anyone with anything.

But the only thing true in the above statement is that I'm not writing.

I am not an utter failure at life in general or even life in particular, since I'm still alive. Yes, I'm in pain right now, but I'll deal, as I always have.

My creativity is certainly not dead, just taking different forms. I'm really interested in my sewing class, and I picked up a cross-stitch that I haven't touched in months to work on at work. Also, I got a catalog in the mail yesterday that offered a set of "illuminated" coloring books and pens for $30, so I may ask my Dad to get that for me.

So, that is the state of the Jenn at the moment.

Kahvi didn't throw up at all yesterday, and took in a little more from the syringe (although she still hates the food, she'll have you know). I've left her with the vet today to get the blood work repeated, her catheter out (she hates it as much as I did), and generally be observed and taken care of, because I have to be in the office the rest of the week.

Thank y'all for thinking of us. :-)

Kahvi, my ElfQuest War Chieftess avatar, is still fighting.

She's less yellow, but still throwing up, so I've got medicine to give for that before feeding her.

But still not well. She's still yellow, and not eating unless you stick a syringe in her mouth. She also threw up once at the hospital.

The vet is having me feed her little bits more often, to see if it helps any, and tomorrow morning I take her in early to get blood work done.

I had to leave her at the emergency vet last night after they admitted her. She has some liver or gall-bladder issue that has her constantly vomiting. She's lost over 2 pounds fairly recently, and I can't afford more than just IV fluids, antibiotics, and anti-nausea meds. I'm hoping it's just an infection and this will clear it up.
