Some writing and other stuff

1) More Than One, for the [info]ffvii_100 prompt Alternate Universes. Will have to tuck this one away and work on it later.

2) Completed the Springkink prompt Final Fantasy XII, Penelo/Basch: friendly kidnapping - "Basch thought that, perhaps, Penelo was enjoying her role as Sky Pirate a bit too much." Turned out a tad bit smuttier than I'd originally planned, but I'm not unhappy with it. ;-)

3) Posted an untitled 509 words for the [info]gen_challenge prompt Final Fantasy 7, Sephiroth, weapons maintenance

Listening to The Slip, the free download from Nine Inch Nails... and I guess I'm just not that big a fan of the band, I'm deleting more of these tracks than I'm keeping. I like the idea of free music, though. ;-)

About to head to New York to visit my half sister and her family, and will probably be out of touch until I get back late Monday. Y'all be good. ;-)

Writing and other updates

Credit Unions rule. I am so moving all my business as soon as possible.

Wrote three things yesterday:
1) 102 words for the Springkink prompt Kingdom Hearts, Roxas/Demyx: ocean/sea - saltwater. Came out more blatant than I'd thought at first, but I like it.
2) Redecorating, for the [info]ffvii_100 prompt "Hidden Talents"
3) An unsolicited 231 words about Freya from FF IX called A Chance to Be.

Feeling much less stressed now, which is good.

Writing stuff

So. I have no willpower saves against shiny prompts, so...

For [info]gen_challenge : May 31 - Final Fantasy X, Bahamut, 'A hard choice for any child to make, even one over a thousand years old'. 295 words in a rather disjointed style, but one that I think works for a 1000+ year old child-Aeon-God.

I've got a list of some other prompts from there, but I'm not going to claim them until I write them. And I won't write another one of those until I finish one of the remaining Springkink prompts.

Writing update

So I worked on June 23rd - Crossover: Kingdom Hearts/Final Fantasy VII, Riku/Kadaj/Yazoo/Loz: Mistaken identity (or relationship) - Damnit, I'm not your brother!" yesterday... I've apparently created a monster, because by the end it was over 1000 words, all because KH!Cloud would. Not. Shut. Up! I'll have to do something nice to Riku to make up for Cloud stealing most of his prompt. :-p

Then I saw a friend pimp [info]gen_challenge, and I'm wondering how I missed this earlier. And I'm trying to tell myself I don't have the time to write those prompts. Not matter how shiny the May 9th Sephiroth sword cleaning prompt is. :-p

Next to last Springkink

Title: Just Another Notch
Rating: PG
Word count: 152
Prompt: Kingdom Hearts, Demyx/Xigbar: cheerful blasphemy - walk on water
Link: Over here on Springkink
Notes: I would like to come back to this one at some point and work on it a little more, just to flesh it out better. Not happening now, though...

Feb. 22nd, 2008

Springkink posting

Title: As Offered
Rating: PG
Warnings: Vague references to girl love
Word count: 123
Prompt: Final Fantasy XII, Fran/Penelo: teacher/student relationship - "clever hands and bright eyes"
Link: Over here on Springkink

Got about half of the last one done yesterday, should finish it up today.

Feb. 18th, 2008

Late Springkink entry

This one was due yesterday, but didn't get finished until a few minutes ago.

Title: Stripped Bare
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: language
Word count: 643
Prompt: Kingdom Hearts II, Organization XIII (any combination): strip poker - "I think Demyx is cheating. I know Luxord is"
Link: Over here on Springkink.

That leaves me with just one more to write, due on the 27th, and then 3 Kinkfest's after that, but one of those is already started.

ETA: That's right, I was going to go make me a Larxene icon... *goes searching*

Feb. 12th, 2008

Next Springkink entry

Title: In the Rough
Rating: hard R to NC17, depending on how you look at it
Warnings: language, sex
Word count: 966
Prompt: Final Fantasy VII, Cid/Shera: stubble, a tactile fetish - "rough kisses, rough words, rough hands"
Link: Over here on Springkink.

Next up is one I haven't finished yet... and after that is another one I haven't started yet. Oops. :-p

Feb. 10th, 2008

More Springkink

Title: Things We’ll Never Do
Rating: R
Warnings: language, violence, masturbation, thoughts of incest
Word count: 362
Prompt: Devil May Cry, Dante/Vergil: Suggestive banter - "Hey bro, bet you can't do this."
Link: Over here on Springkink

A bit darker than what I usually write, but it just came out all angst-y. I will probably have to make that up to him later. ;-)

Feb. 8th, 2008

Crappy writing link here

Title: In the Rain
Rating: G
Word count: 157
Prompt: X-Men (movieverse), Nightcrawler/Storm: in a rainstorm - "Grace finds beauty in everything."
Link: Overe here on Springkink

This is the prompt that I kept saying, "OMG WTF did I pick this?!?!?!?" I started out fine, then realized I was nowhere near the movie-verse's characterization of Kurt and Ororo. So I ended up with this bleh.

Feb. 7th, 2008

Next Springkink prompt and some other stuff

Title: Just How Friendly
Rating: R
Warnings: language, M/F sex, implied Xigbar/Xaldin
Word count: 602
Prompt: Crossover: KH/Traditional Fairytales, Xigbar/Xaldin/Rapunzel: Hair Fetish - "I met this chick in a tower. Doesn't get much company and she was friendly. Real friendly."
Link: Here it is on Springkink. I'm not very happy with the wording, but every time I tried to mess with it it got worse, so there you go. :-p

Still have 3 to write, although I started one yesterday before something I ate disagreed with me and I just crashed, mentally. Hopefully I'll be able to finish that one up today.

Since it's the Chinese New Year, I got a free I-Ching reading at Tarot.com, which told me what I pretty much already knew about the house and economy situation. *shrug* No biggie. I'm to the point where I've fallen in love with the house again, it just needs a small bit of very expensive work to be perfect for me for now.

Next Springkink entry

Title: Dividing Line
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Bad thoughts
Word count: 737
Prompt: Final Fantasy XII, Larsa/Vayne: Forbidden pleasures - walking on tightrope
Posted: Over here on Springkink.

Work review, money, and writing

I don't know when today, but if you can spare me a thought, I'll be getting my review and will be asking for a raise.

I've also got a plan for money issues, since it's pretty obvious the house isn't going to sell. I've done my taxes and will be getting a nice chunk of change back (sold stock at a loss, and all the medical bills). Then there's my bonus in March. And then whatever the government hands out after that. Even if I don't get the raise, I'll go to my bank with numbers and get refinanced. Then I can pay off a credit card and chop it up, get the heating and AC replaced, and get a bigger Craftmatic bed.

Title: Organic
Rating: G
Word count: 532
Prompt: Final Fantasy X-2, Nooj/Gippal/Baralai/Paine: Forgiveness - After Vegnagun "Where do we go from here?"
Posted: Here, unlocked, on Springkink. I am quite proud of this one... it just flowed onto the page.

Feb. 1st, 2008

First Springkink prompt

Title: Shocking, Isn’t It?
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Word count: 284
Prompt: Kingdom Hearts, Sephiroth/Larxene: Electricity - "I'll make your hair stand on end."
Posted: Here on Springkink, it's not locked so you should be able to read it. If you have problems, let me know and I'll put it under a cut here.

This is the first time I've tried to write Larxene, and I think I like this psycho wench. ;-) I can sympathize with being the only women in a huge group of men, having been there in most of my upper level college classes and early work situations.

At home

Between getting exactly no sleep last night and my ear still being sore, I'm at home today.

I've managed to be a smidgen productive... 157 words for a Springkink prompt I was just about to give up on. I'll go back and look at it again in a day or two, but the fact I was able to give it that much is a miracle.

Now, though, I think I need a nap. And a shower.

Jan. 14th, 2008

Stuff and picture

Wrote 150-something words for one of my Springkink prompts. I'll definitely revisit this one... while it's technically enough to post, I don't like how it feels, but it's not due until the end of the month, so I'll finish the rest and come back to it.

Odin Sphere is one of the HARDEST games I've played in a long time, and I'm trying to do it on easy mode! This is going to drive me up the wall! I may have to put it on the pile with Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story as "Games I'll Get Back To When I'm Less Likely To Destroy Them In Frustration".

My backlog, let me shows you it?
PS2: Breath of Fire V: Dragon Quarter, Devil May Cry 2, Genji, Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy, Shadow of the Colossus, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army, Suikoden III, Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria
PS1: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Metal Gear Solid, Soul Blade, Star Ocean: The Second Story, Wild Arms, Wild Arms 2

*looks back* Damn, that's even bigger than I remembered. o_0; Some of these games are in a box in the attic, but I think most are down here. Anyone got any suggestions? ;-)

And finally, a picture of my home computer desk.
This is actually pretty cleaned up for me )

Another Sprinkink done and doctor appointments

2 down, 9 to go...

This particular prompt could have been the hardest for me, since it touched in my personal issues, but I think I managed 737 words without gutting the prompt or freaking myself out.

Tomorrow I have nuclear cardiac stress test (the joys of having a pacemaker), then Wednesday I have an appointment with the orthopedist about my shoulder. From looking at pictures of the shoulder joint, the pain seems to be coming from either the bursas or one of the rotator cuff tendons. :-p

Jan. 4th, 2008

Writing and picture

I knew there was something else I wanted to say last night, but teh brain, she is tired...

I wrote the first of the 11 Sprinkink prompts! :-) Little under 300 words, but I'm trying to teach myself that it doesn't have to be OMGEPIC! to be good. I know what I want to do with the next one, too, just need to get to decide who's point of view to write it from. I can see it from either person, so I may just write both and see which one I like more).

And now... my new office!

Picture and more talking underneath )
