Been to Dragon*Con.

Had a wonderful time.

Have 100+ pictures and a OMGWTFBBQ video to go through.

Be back soon!

PS: I'll try to catch up, but if there's something important I need to see, point me in it's general direction, please?

A love note to my local library

Dear Lexington County Public Library,

It was my fault, I admit it. I abandoned you. I thought I didn't need you anymore.

I was wrong.

When I came crawling back, you gave me an exasperated sigh, and then a fond smile, and opened your arms to me.

I love you. See you later this week to pick up my books.

A riddle

If I'm too old to be a Maiden, too young to be a crone, and too (physically) broken to be a Mother, what am I?

I'm alive

Not doing as well as I would like, but I am alive.

How're y'all?

Slowly coming back to life

I finally believe I'm going to be OK.

Spent Friday night through the entire weekend being very self-centered and completely not ashamed about it. I bought Final Fantasy XIII and Dragon Age: Origins and renewed my Game Stop membership (completely worth it considering the amount of used games I buy).

I then started playing Final Fantasy XIII. This is quickly rocketing to the top of "Jenn's List of Best Final Fantasy Games". The characters are very real. The Paradigm System is amazing. The graphics are absolutely jaw-dropping. SquareEnix hit this out of the park, past the parking lot, and through the office building across the street.

I have also been watching a lot of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Yes, I know, I'm way behind the rest of the world. This has rocketed to the top of "Jenn's List of Best Young People Anime". I am noticing a lack of Katara icons in my life that will soon need to be remedied. Zuko is growing on me despite all my best efforts. Aang is absolutely adorable, and needs to be fed cookies all the time.

Maybe I'll be able to write soon.

I will start taking pictures again.

Life goes on.

From my Daily Buddhist Wisdom

Motivation is very important, and thus my simple religion is love, respect for others, honesty: teachings that cover not only religion but also the fields of politics, economics, business, science, law, medicine-everywhere. With proper motivation these can help humanity

First thunderstorm of the year

Nothing like driving through a heavy thunderstorm with Globus and Immediate coming out of the speakers at a rather high volume. Makes me grin in a somewhat feral way.

Something to think about

Information collected on the subject of religion is worthless. Religion is, to the very end, something that you must verify for yourself through actual practice.

Daily Buddhist Wisdom

By charity, goodness, restraint, and self-control men and woman alike can store up a well-hidden treasure -- a treasure which cannot be given to others and which robbers cannot steal. A wise person should do good -- that is the treasure which will not leave one.

Quick thought on Babylon 5

I'm up to season three, and just finished the episode "Convictions". Without spoiling anything, let me declare my undying fangirl love and devotion to the actors who portrayed Londo Mollari and G'Kar. Their scenes together were incredible.

Random Thought of the day

You know you've done SOMETHING right in your life when you look up from the computer and see three gold boy-cats watching over you.

Snarky thought of the early morning

So Vick was reinstated and can play in the NFL.

So far, 18 teams have said, "Uh, no."

Karma would be that he's reinstated and no-one wants him, right? *evil grin*

Just a random thought

(Note to self: need headphones icon. Nero also in said icon is a plus.)

Hans Zimmer needs to be listened to under the best headphones you can afford. There are so many layers and little cues that make up his work!

Several things

1) New icon by [info]indigo. MWAH! Love it!

2) Got my bonus. More than I expected, so I plan to pay off a long-standing hospital bill I've been slowly chipping away at for years. That'll free up $100 a month to put towards other bills and maybe even savings.

3) Finished watching Elemental Gelade this morning. I was quite pleased with how it turned out, after being a bit "eh" about it after the second disk. I gave it 4 stars on NetFlix (the ending is a bit too perfect for my tastes), but I would recommend it. Next up is Hellsing.

4) Almost done with the first season of Babylon 5. Much like the first season of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, it's fairly hit and miss, but there are a lot of characters I like so I'm planning on sticking with it.

5) Been playing Titan Quest: Immortal Throne. Love it muchly. If you love Diablo, you'll love this.

6) Not writing. Need to remedy this, pronto.

How to eat leftover Chinese...

...when you don't feel like cooking 20-minute rice.

Unfortunately, the place I love to eat from makes rice that turns into rocks when you nuke it. So I'm looking in my cabinet, because I don't want to eat the leftover Mai Po tofu (or, as I call it, My Poor tofu) without a starch. I'm looking in my cabinet, thinking I'll cook some of the spaghetti or vermicelli, then:

BRAIN: You have Ramen
STOMACH: Don't want beef flavored Ramen with spicy tofu
BRAIN: So don't add the flavor packet.

So, I broke up the Ramen, cooked it, strained it, dumped some of the tofu and sauce on top. YUM!!!
