Another OMG gaming announcement

Chrono Trigger is coming to the DS this holiday season!

My inner gaming geek girl is just flailing all over the place right now (think that Kermit the frog icon). I will have to buy a DS now.

Blizzard does it again

Blizzard makes games you can play over and over again. I still own the original Diablo, and still play Diablo II every couple of years. In fact, I just popped WarCraft III back in and find that the music, stories, and graphics can hold up to things put out today.

Blizzard had a thing today, and made an announcement I've been waiting for. Ladies and Gentlemen, Evil has returned...

When this comes out, I will probably have to take a week of vacation... ;-)

Writing! And one or two other things

Occasionally other things happen in my life, but this is what I'm focusing on and trying to improve and do more of. ;-) )

Cut for spoilers for <i>Shin Megumi Tensei: Nocturne</i> )

Feeling a bit better

I'm still draining and coughing a bit, but I don't feel like dying anymore.

Have gotten nothing written, which is a Bad Thing. Maybe I'll get some done today after I do the little bit of work I need to do.

Playing Shadow Hearts, and falling in love all over again with everybody.

Gaming and sick update

Still pretty sick, mainly because runny nose + antibiotics = my bag filling up every hour or two, so I'm not getting the sleep I need.

Tried to play SMT: Nocturne, and how poorly I'm doing is probably a testament to how sick I am. Took me a couple tries to get past the Matador, and after getting my ass handed to me about a dozen times by Dante, I'm just going to stop for now.

Put in Katamari Damacy...

...

...

I am hyp-mo-tized by how surreal it is. And how easy. And how catchy the music is.

Writing update and other stuff

Looks like I may get out of meetings today, the consultant is sick.

Unfortunately, I think I am, too. Damn Yankee germs. :-p

Wrote 267 words on the Springkink prompt Final Fantasy VII, Kadaj/Rufus Shinra: sensory deprivation - What's wrong? Are you still afraid of the dark?. That leaves one to go, the Vergil torture prompt that I really ought to get down before I completely squick myself out of writing it.

Then six [info]kinkfest prompts, and if I feel good about those, I'll go back and to claim some more.

Beat Final Fantasy IX yesterday, and oh, how I love that ending. :-) Next up is SMT: Nocturne, since I tend to see prompts and stuff about it everywhere.

ETA: LOL! Trying to write the Music tag, almost posted "You're a Solidor Now".

Can have less stress nao?

I would love a period of time where my only stress is deciding whether the next game I play is one of the 30 from my backlog or one of the dozen games I want to replay.

I would love the time to write the two post DMC 4 fics I have brewing in my head, even if I'm the only one who'd ever look at them.

I need to finish up Springkink prompts.

*sigh* I guess this is what it is to be all grown up?

Apr. 10th, 2008

It must be Spring

There's a cacophony of bird song outside, even though it's not dawn yet.

Random thought: Suikoden V is suddenly one of my top 5 favorite games ever, and I'm only 11 or so hours into it.

Square Enix Memebers

Go Pre-Register now before someone else takes your name! I managed to snag JLSigman for a username and Jenn for a nickname, which is insane, and won't last long. They'll eventually have exclusive content up there.

Bright clear day

No clouds in the sky, nice cool breeze, bright sunshine... all of my family came through the storms OK. I've got one big limb down in the back corner of my lot, but other than that it's fine.

So now I'm going to go hook up my shiny new PS3 and play with Nero and Dante for a bit. ;-)

Saturday morning running around

Cut because I ramble like a rambley thing )

Feb. 22nd, 2008

Things I need to do this weekend

1) Do a load of delicates and a load of regular laundry
2) Do the hand-washing
3) Shower and bag change
4) Run the dishwasher
5) Watch that last Angel episode that I've been avoiding watching for the last two weeks because I know I'm going to cry.
6) Try to get most of the way to the end of Final Fantasy Tactics
7) Get my box of PS1 and PS2 games down from the attic and get my collection in order
8) Cook dinner for Mom and Dad on Sunday
9) Finish the last Springkink prompt (I ended up deleting about half of what I wrote because I didn't like the way it was going)

I think that's it...

Feb. 9th, 2008

Crisis Core voices

I've seen a couple of FMV's of Crisis Core with English acting...

Lazard, Zack, and Angeal. I'm pretty sure Zack is Gippal. Angeal might be Baralai, I'm not sure.

Sephiroth at the entrance to Nibelheim. Once again, Newburn has no idea how to do Sephiroth. :-p That laugh is WRONG.

Stuff and picture

Wrote 150-something words for one of my Springkink prompts. I'll definitely revisit this one... while it's technically enough to post, I don't like how it feels, but it's not due until the end of the month, so I'll finish the rest and come back to it.

Odin Sphere is one of the HARDEST games I've played in a long time, and I'm trying to do it on easy mode! This is going to drive me up the wall! I may have to put it on the pile with Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story as "Games I'll Get Back To When I'm Less Likely To Destroy Them In Frustration".

My backlog, let me shows you it?
PS2: Breath of Fire V: Dragon Quarter, Devil May Cry 2, Genji, Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy, Shadow of the Colossus, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army, Suikoden III, Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria
PS1: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Metal Gear Solid, Soul Blade, Star Ocean: The Second Story, Wild Arms, Wild Arms 2

*looks back* Damn, that's even bigger than I remembered. o_0; Some of these games are in a box in the attic, but I think most are down here. Anyone got any suggestions? ;-)

And finally, a picture of my home computer desk.
This is actually pretty cleaned up for me )

Bad work day

Bad day! Bad, bad work day. No biscuit for you.

In good news, I found a torrent for the Crises Core soundtrack. OMFG. Absolutely incredible. The only tracks I didn't keep were the whiny J-Pop piece and their version of "One Winged Angel". That doesn't mean that it's a bad version, however... I have a real love/hate relationship with that song, and I really only like the version from Advent Children.

So, to those people who have PSP's... is there some way to plug a regular sized controller into it? I can't manipulate the tiny buttons that most of those hand-held systems have due to 20 years of arthritis damage to my hands, but I am seriously going to want one when Crises Core and the new Kingdom Hearts game come out over here.

Random Thoughts while on painkillers

Physical update )

Thoughts after beating the original .hack games )

New music you must download )

I think that's it for now... I have prompts to catch up on when I'm a little less drugged...

Crisis Core

*whimpers*

Here's a link to an unsubtitled version.

OMG

Zack is a goofball.

Sephiroth is HUMAN!

Except when he's fighting two guys at one time, then he's fucking GODLY and makes it look effortless.

And Cloud's broken-minded face and scream.

That's it... as soon as I hear about an American release date, I'm going to have to get a PSP.

Random thoughts

Spent Saturday cleaning house, then had a friend of my mother's who is a real estate agent come over and look at it. Thankfully, there's really not a lot of hard/expensive work to do if I want to get it ready to sell. Mostly painting, some furniture moving, and window decorating. Unless something drastic happens, I can probably have the monstrosity on the market by mid-Fall.

Just have to make enough to cover the mortgage and HELOC, and have enough left over to put a huge down payment on another place so I can keep the mortgage reasonable. *crosses fingers*

Did several things Sunday, including a wafer change that was rather unexpected. :-p I still have an easier time with the adhesives and such than my uncle does, but that doesn't make it pleasant when I have to fiddle with pastes and powders and scissors and crap. But I'm having to change them less often, so I guess I'm doing something right.

I baked cookies! The flour bag has a nice, easy recipe that makes ones that are nearly impossible to screw up. Believe me, I've tried. One batch I forgot to get vanilla extract (I just added more chocolate chips to cover it), and this last time I forgot the baking soda (whoops). Both times they came out quite edible.

I took the cookies and my computer tool kit to the new offices for Project Pet and helped them by setting up four computers. They're planning to drill some holes in some of the desks, and at least one office needs a network jack installed, so I told them to let me or my parents (who are building up the cat rooms) know and I'll come back and finish up.

Then spent the rest of Sunday making Diablo my bitch, and moving into Act 5.

Today I've already called the city's waste water department to come and look and their pipes (again...), there's a lot of gurgling going on (as usual). I also need to try to look up and see if I can remember the name of the orthopedist who looked at my shoulder a couple of years ago, because I've just about taken all the Vicodin Mom let me borrow and I'm still in a LOT of pain. :-p Since I can't have an MRI due to the pacemaker, he'll probably want to do something surgical. :-p Might as well do it now, while I've got the insurance maxxed out. ;-)

Jul. 10th, 2007

More random stuff

Thanks to the Internets, I have set up my newspaper service to be paused and my mail to be collected while I'm on vacation next week.

Thanks for Final Fantasy XII, I do almost nothing but sit in front of the PS2 while I'm at home. ;-) I need an icon for it... anyone with icon making skillz have a good Larsa/Penelo OTP one lying around I can use? ;-)

I'm tired... but I must be fine since the doctor said so, right? :-p

Jul. 5th, 2007

I'm bored at work

So I guess I'll spam y'all. ;-)

I'm currently on hold with Microsoft Technical Support, after telling them the number to the Sales division rings then hangs up on me with a rapid busy signal.

At home I'm re-playing Diablo II: Lord of Destruction for the millionth time since 2001.

HA! Technical support guy (who is being very cool about the whole thing) says it's not just me, it happens to him, too. Now he's frantically going through pieces of paper on his desk to find another number.

I should be writing. I have stuff I need to write. Cat and Dante have taken over my brain. Star and Kadaj are whining about how neglected they are. Mary is snarling, but she's going to have to wait until I see a script from Crisis Core and can grok Genesis. I am not writing, so it's a bit chaotic in my head right now. :-p

My ostomy is doing well, and I'm getting better with the wafers and bag changes.

And... oh yeah, I go on vacation with my family in a couple of weeks. We'll all be in a smallish beach house for 6 days. I call dibs on going insane by Wednesday night.
