Computer update
No, really. It's fucked. It boots up, then locks up. Reboots, then locks up. Reboots, starts to load Windows, starts to run the CHKDSK, locks up. Reboot, try to get it to run the CD I got from Dell, locks up. Reboot, won't give me the option to boot from CD, tries to load Windows, locks up, reboots...
With the thing I bought last weekend, I can turn the 80GB hard drive into an external backup. I can maybe do something with the two 1GB sticks of RAM. But other than that, it's useless.
I've got a Sam's Club credit card that I've had for years for emergencies. I think this counts.

But yeah, the hard drive itself seems to be OK, which leads me to believe it's the motherboard that's got a problem somewhere, but I sure do not have the time and patience to let Dell charge me obscene amounts of money to figure out what it is.
