Emerald green, bastards. First person to make a game system in emerald green gets my monies.
I'm not against lilac per se, but... yeah, the condescending attitude this industry has towards girls is really ticking me off.
Yes, it's the attitude more than the color, especially for those of us who's been playing for almost 30 years. :-p
OMG! Does it come in pink? Oh pleaz ghwad, tell me it comes in pink!! I would be so all over it if it came in pink coz I totally want to play this awesometastic game...just listen to the write up:

Armed with a deadly song that withers all living things, the evil Moja army have returned to enslave the LocoRoco! Help the LocoRoco bring life and music back to the planet in this exciting new sequel.

*SQUUUEEEEE* SO. DO. WANT!

*gag gag cough cough*

What the hell happened to the gaming market? Do these jokers even realize that girls have been gaming since the advent of gaming? Seriously...and they weren't playing "girl games" they were shooting the hell out of aliens and blowing shit up! Deadly songs, my ass...some girl gamer needs to storm the gates with a flamethrower...harmony, shmarmony!
What. The fuck. Is THAT supposed to be?

Fun games for girls? Lilac? "Girlz Play Too!"?!? What asshat made THIS one up? This is SO incredibly condescending, dripping with outdated stereotypes, and completely out of touch with the reality of gaming!!!

RARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wtf definitely covers the reaction to this.

Please tell me there's a well worded complaint petition somewhere to sign? I think that if I was forced to play that kind of game I'd go made from the torture. Give me a good battle and an in-depth storyline and I'm so there, have been for years. Is it just me or is this game plus the others mentioned are more marketed for pre-teens rather than the hordes of women gamers who wouldn't touch this game with a thirty foot pole complete with twenty foot electrical extension. The people who designed this ad as well as the ones who approved its use need to get their heads out of their asses and take a good look at the people that buy games. We are not cutesy girls still at school who want cutesy games to coo over but women RAWR!

note: no offense intended to anyone on jlsigman's flist that may a/like the games or b/be a cutesy pre-teen girl :)
Well, not choosing to allow Flash and JavaScript willy-nilly on my browser (I blame far too many years on dial-up access) I wasn't able to see the offending article, but I agree with the sentiments of the other commenters. I'm 38, drattit, and I grew out of needing everything I owned to be lolly pink by the time I was about ten. I've been playing electronic games since I was about fifteen or so, and most of the time I've just been buying the games from the normal racks at the stores - you know, the ones where the rest of the games were. I've found I'm fond of RPGs, with a liking for some strategy games and the occasional MMORPG - and I find all of these on the same shelves as the games for the boys. I like spending money on games - in fact games come in after books as the non-essential item I'm most likely to spend money on.

What I *don't* like is being treated as though I'm a six-year-old moron who's frightened and insulted by being given a range of games which offer roles for female characters outside the stereotyped "love interest", "porn object", "helpless princess" and "housewife" versions by all the various gaming design companies. Gods above, below, before and behind, I've been playing all these various games since I was fifteen - I'm hardly going to start fainting in coils now.
