I'm starting to reclaim myself and my house

A couple of weeks ago, I contracted with Sears to come and replace six of my single-pane, drafty, and mostly unopen-able windows with modern ones. It's an expense, but a necessary one to continued existence in this house. Besides, it'll cut down my heating & cooling bill and because they're energy saver I'll get a break on my taxes next year.

In order for the workers to get to those windows, though, I've had to do some major cleaning and some furniture moving. I have accomplished this with no pain, which is a delightful surprise. I'm so used to there being pain, that no-pain is wonderfully different. It gives me incentive to finish putting the film on the bathroom window and to really pick out paint for the dining room and office.

This is MY house. I live here. I will make it to MY tastes, and if that includes random swirls in silver paint on one dining room wall, then they will be there. I am not preparing for some future time gods only know how long in the future when I'll sell it, I'm preparing for NOW.

That's fun!
