Cleaning up the Corner a bit

Taking a broom to the corners of my mind...

Changed up the theme to try to get away from mental darkness at the moment. Much thanks to [info]stellastars for offering this wonderful free layout.

Have any of y'all been diagnosed with fibromyalgia? If so, how did you and your doctor(s) come about that diagnosis? What do you do to treat it? The PT lady mentioned it as a strong possibility, considering my physical issues, but I don't want to jump into Internet-condria and proclaim that I definitely have it. I want to know the steps my doctor and I will have to take to either rule it out or confirm it.

Wish I could help you on the question, but we don't have fibromyalgia. Good luck with all that doctor stuff though!

And this new layout - bright, cheery and absolutely fabulous. I like it!
Thanks for responding on the question... I'm at the "collect data" stage, and I figured this was as good a place to look as any. ;-)

And I loved this layout when I saw the preview, it just clicked. I guess I needed it. ;-)
Great layout! I have to second [info]teamromy on that.

People have suggested to us in the past that we might have fibromyalgia because we get a lot of weird pain/numbness sensations, particularly in arms & legs. However, we have not been diagnosed and I'll be honest that I personally have ruled it out as a valid diagnosis for myself. (This is, in part, because early last year we had an MRI on our brain and it revealed a venous angioma -- I don't know where, though.)

Looking online for the steps of diagnosis for it might help prepare you -- I know there are two criteria for the diagnosis of it as outlined by the American College of Rheumatology (widespread pain lasting at least 3 months, and at least 11 positive tender points out of a possible 18). You might google "diagnosing fibromyalgia" and see what comes up, to give an idea?
Will try the searching... mostly it's been medicines that claim to help with it and varying people saying whether or not it actually is a valid medical condition or just a woman being a woman.

*twitch*

Anyways, thanks for the tip. :-) And I'm glad you like the layout, too.
