Those are the remains of my Sam's Club credit card. I got it years ago as a way to buy groceries after I got fired from a job. But instead of paying it off and closing it when I got hired again, I got in the habit of using it.

But I need to not use it. I need to not buy so much crap. I need to not eat out at lunch so much.

*drops remains into trash*

So earlier this morning I had a post composed in my head that was me whining about how I'm not writing, how I'm an utter failure at life in general, that my creativity was dead, that I really shouldn't be bothering anyone with anything.

But the only thing true in the above statement is that I'm not writing.

I am not an utter failure at life in general or even life in particular, since I'm still alive. Yes, I'm in pain right now, but I'll deal, as I always have.

My creativity is certainly not dead, just taking different forms. I'm really interested in my sewing class, and I picked up a cross-stitch that I haven't touched in months to work on at work. Also, I got a catalog in the mail yesterday that offered a set of "illuminated" coloring books and pens for $30, so I may ask my Dad to get that for me.

So, that is the state of the Jenn at the moment.

Didn't happen.

Between endless meetings at work, then the doctor, then crashing and dying once I got home, I'm afraid I didn't write a single word.

Ah well. Yesterday is over. Onward and upward.

Now to just get the damn doctor to actually do something about my pain, instead of giving me muscle relaxants and sending me on my way.

Didn't do so well, only 329 words. I let myself get distracted by football (YAY PANTHERS!!!). But I know more about two of my characters than I did when I started, so I'm not going to beat myself up about it.

I have a blank page in front of me, a kernel of an idea, and a purring kitty.

He had his 1 week checkup yesterday and the vet was very impressed with how he's doing, and said that we didn't need to up the insulin dosage yet.

And looking at acting much more like his usual self! :-)

He's eating, he's purring, and he looks great.

He even got a bath at the vet's. I inquired as to the condition of the tech involved, and got a bit of a nervous laugh in response. *sigh*

I got shown how to give him his shots, and I should be OK. I will be OK. OK? *meep*

Goldeneye has diabetes.

Found out when he was completely listless this morning and I rushed him to the vet. He's lost almost 7 pounds.

I will have to learn how to give him shots.

Guess what I signed up for?

I have NO idea what I'll do, other than write, but I guess that's the point. :-p
